Why curl pattern changes with length — and why that matters

Curly hair behaves differently at every length. Longer hair is heavier, which stretches curls and reduces volume at the roots. Shorter hair lets curls spring up, creating more visible texture and volume. This means the same person can look dramatically different with a collarbone-length cut versus an ear-length cut.
